Wireless Technology at the Library - UPDATE!
The Sanibel Public Library boasts a wireless network. Patrons can bring their personal laptops/notebooks and access the Internet through their wireless cards. Access is available throughout the entire building. Both wireless communications and patron Internet stations are now running on a 10MB circuit.
AirPAC - UPDATE!
AirPAC, an OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) designed for wireless devices, allows library patrons to search Sanibel’s catalog from personal hand-held devices such as Internet-enabled mobile phones and PDAs. AirPAC includes full search capabilities, item information display, patron record display, renewals and request capabilities. Now working with iPhones! Access the catalog at http://library.sanlib.org
Digi-Findit® available - all three (3) Island newspapers are available digitally at the Library. Articles and pictures are accessible as far back as the 1960's. See the Reference Desk staff for access.
